The 3rd Annual Power the Flower 5K & Fun Run is quickly approaching and will be held on April 28, 2018 in Northeast Florida. The run will benefit Girl Power 2 Cure, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit organization. Expected participation for 2018 is approximately 250 runners and their guests. We partnered with Ultimate Racing Inc. and our runners will enjoy a custom medal, great T-shirt, podium & age group awards, and pre-race & post-race entertainment. The race will be held at Neptune Beach Elementary on Florida Blvd. We would like to invite you to be a part of this event through sponsorship; helping to support girls and families living with Rett Syndrome.
Girl Power 2 Cure, a local non-profit organization with international supporters, is committed to raising awareness of Rett Syndrome and finding a cure. Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that primarily affects females. Many girls with Rett Syndrome are non-verbal, unable to walk, and lose purposeful use of their hands. It is also as common as Cystic Fibrosis, ALS, and Huntington’s. Rett Syndrome is a potentially REVERSIBLE disorder. Research has proven once protein levels are back to normal levels, symptoms subside.

We became passionately involved with Girl Power 2 Cure after our daughter Evie was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at the age of 2. She is now 7, attends Neptune Beach Elementary, enjoys being a Girl Scout, and loves to roller skate. Evie is non-verbal, not able to walk, and has limited control of her hands. We started the Power the Flower 5K to raise awareness of Rett Syndrome on the First Coast and support girls living with Rett Syndrome. Like Evie, many girls with Rett can communicate using their eyes and they do that in a variety of ways. Your sponsorship will help give educators, therapist, and families supporting Rett Girls the tools to learn how to better communicate with them through Rett U Live! Workshop in September 2018.
